🏀 The Prop Queen Newsletter

Morning Basketball Edition

Hope you had a profitable night last night! A lot of trends from the newsletter did very well.

ICYMI: I didn’t mention this game yesterday, but Nuggets MVP Nikola Jokic had the first ever 30-20-20 game in NBA history. Nobody got to 24-18-18 before last night. Jokic had 31 pts, 21 reb and 22 ast against the Suns.

A few things to look out for tonight:

  • Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball very rarely plays on second legs of back-to-backs. The Hornets are on one tonight hosting the Nets.

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo is now questionable (illness).

About Last Night…

Where the PQ Newsletter went RIGHT:

  • Cavaliers power forward Evan Mobley went over is 17.5 points with 19.

  • There were a lot of rebounds to go around in Cavs-Hornets with Mobley grabbing 10 and Allen with 11 boards. Both went over their 9.5 rebounds prop.

  • Jazz center Walker Kessler had another great game without Lauri Markkanen with 18 points and 25 rebounds. Kessler went over his 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds props.

  • The lead forward for the Raptors, Scottie Barnes, went over his 21.5 points prop with 22 points. That prop moved since the morning newsletter from 21.5 to 22.5 so hopefully you didn’t get a bad number!

  • Kings small forward Keegan Murray had a great night on the boards with 9 rebounds. He went over his 5.5 and 6.5 rebounds props. That was another prop that moved from the morning to the afternoon newsletter.

  • Mikal Bridges had another great night for the Knicks without Jalen Brunson. He went over his 15.5 points prop posting 22.

  • Josh Hart continues to dominate the boards on the second leg of a back-to-back. He went over his 9.5 rebounds prop with 20 rebounds!!!

Where the PQ Newsletter went WRONG:

  • Mavs point guard Spencer Dinwiddie came off the bench last night and did not go over his 5.5 assist prop. He only had 4.

  • Neither Mavs guard had a good night against the Grizzlies. Dinwiddie went under his 15.5 points prop with 10 points and Klay Thompson went under his 18.5 points prop with 15 points.

Hornets Without LaMelo Ball

LaMelo Ball is out tonight (shocker it’s a second leg of a back-to-back).

I’m bringing back the Hornets without LaMelo Ball chart:

As you can see, it’s a huge opportunity to get Bridges’ rebounds and assists today with LaMelo out. Whether you combine them or take them separately, those are the markets I always tackle when the Hornets rest their point guard.

The chart also indicates Williams having a good game. Since the All-Star break, the Nets have dropped to 9th in points allowed and 17th in rebounds allowed. Look at how the Nets have done against opposing centers/ power forwards in the last five games:

vs. OKC: PF Holmgren 22-17-4

vs. POR: C Donovan Clingan 12-7-3

@ DET: C Duren 18-11-2

@ SAS: C Bismack Biyombo 13-14-3

vs. GSW: PF Draymond Green 7-7-10

Mark Williams overs can also be at play tonight.
