Afternoon Basketball Edition
Happy last day of the NBA until the All Star Break! Well, maybe. We’ll see if it’s actually happy. The NBA is a doooozy on the last night before the break; however, there are definitely some situations you can take advantage of.
Premium subscribers got this morning’s newsletter. Hopefully you got ahead of some line moves. One prop that went up, CJ McCollum points. It went from 21.5 ⬆️ 23.5 because surprise surprise, Zion Williamson is not playing in yet another second leg of a back-to-back! A few others moved as well since this morning’s newsletter.
I’ve got NBA analysis AND Mid Major Matt is going to break down some college hoops!
Free subscribers will get access to a few CBB trends to look at from Matt. Only basic and premium subscribers can see today’s entire newsletter.
About Last Night…
All Stars went OFF before the break last night. It felt like the last hoorah. A lot of those players were mentioned in yesterday’s newsletter:
Knicks stars Jalen Brunson (36 pts) and Karl Anthony Towns (44 pts) went over their points props with another big night on the second leg of a back-to-back.
KAT became the seventh player this season to have back-to-back 40 point games.
Jayson Tatum’s points prop went up from 26.5 ⬆️ 27.5 since yesterday morning’s newsletter, he had 32.
Analysis that went right:
Hornets SF Miles Bridges grabbed 8 boards in another game without LaMelo Ball, going over his 7.5 rebounds prop.
The Trees chart showed Jarrett Allen should have between 13-14 points for Cleveland. He went over his 12.5 points prop with 13 points.
Rockets center Alperen Sengun went over his assists prop again. It was 4.5, he had five.
PQ Sports Social Media Best Bet: Toumani Camara went over 10.5 points. What a sweat, but it hit in the 4Q. He had 13.
Jimmy Butler did in fact continue to kill the Draymond Green R+A prop. Butler said coming into Golden State that he knew the drill. Just pass to Steph. Butler had seven assists last night.
Grizzlies center Zach Edey had five rebounds last night going under his rebounds prop of 7.5 versus veteran center Ivica Zubac.
Clippers All Star Kawhi Leonard went over his 1.5 3-point prop with two 3-pointers against a bad Grizzlies perimeter defense.
Where things went wrong:
Thomas Bryant did not in fact have a great revenge game vs. Washington, even without Myles Turner. He had just 9 points for a 14.5 points prop, but did go over 8.5 rebounds with 11.
Mikal Bridges did not take advantage of the Hawks bad perimeter defense, sinking just one three.
Bulls center Nikola Vucevic had just one 3-pointer instead of two vs. DET.

🔥 BETTING TIPS FOR COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAM TOTALS
Coastal Carolina has given up 70+ points in 8 of their last 10 games. They are allowing Sun Belt opponents to shoot 51.2% from 2 and 37.9% from 3 while forcing turnovers on only 10.9% possessions. App State beat them 74-51 at home back on January 8th, but have scored over 70 in just one of their nine true road games.
NC A&T's offense has scored 59, 63 and 62 in their three games without Ryan Forrest and Landon Glasper, who were suspended. Glasper has since announced he will be transferring from the school. Elon's defense is 32nd in effective FG% and has held four teams to under 65 points at home this season.
