Odds vs. Seeding Discrepanices
I always love looking at when the sportsbook disagrees with the NCAA’s seeding. Here are the matchups today that the sportsbook indicates may be closer than the seeding says:
#5 Michigan -2.5 vs. #12 UC San Diego
TURNOVERS. Michigan ranks 340th out of 361 teams in turnovers!
Michigan’s 3-point shooting is also shaky at 33.4%
Michigan’s 14-4 record in games decided by four points or less shows they’re battled tested, but also means they don’t blow teams out.
UC San Diego feasts on mistakes. They lead the nation in turnover margin and rank second in turnover percentage.
UC San Diego enters the tournament winning 15 straight.
The Tritons are balanced ranking 57th in offensive efficiency and 30th in defensive efficiency.
Michigan is 16-18 ATS and 8-14 ATS as 2.5 point favorites or more (according to Covers.com).
UC San Diego is 24-7 ATS, including 6-0 as an underdog and 4-0 when catching 2.5 or more.
The line opened Michigan -3.5 and dropped to -2.5.
