MATT’S CORNER

Look-Ahead

Texas Tech @ Kansas State (huge game vs. BYU next) - Kansas State is down this season and not as glamorous a matchup as they used to be. Texas Tech has a huge game next week vs. BYU that will determine their status the rest of the season. There could be a letdown here if they aren't focused.

MATT’S CORNER

Hangover

New Mexico @ UNLV (after win over Utah State) - New Mexico was able to beat their old coach Bronco Mendenhall in a highly emotional game last week. Now they play at UNLV who has had two weeks to digest their loss to Boise State. I think the Rebels play really well here and the Lobos could be hung over.

MATT’S CORNER

Letdown

Michigan vs. Purdue (after win over Michigan State) - The Wolverines aren't going to lose this game, but could they be a little flat facing a really bad Purdue? Two years ago after a dominating win at Michigan State, this team won 41-13 as 32 point home favorites over the Boilermakers.
Michigan State @ Minnesota (after loss to Michigan) - Sparty is 0-5 ATS the last five games after the Michigan contest. There's a lot of questions about their head coach and if this could be his last game. Minnesota is coming off an awful effort at Iowa so we know they'll be ready.

MATT’S CORNER

Blowout City

Kansas vs. Oklahoma State - The Cowboys have quit on the season. The Jayhawks are coming off an embarrassing loss to Kansas State. The last four seasons they've scored 45, 49, 53 and 57 in the games after losses in the Sunflower Showdown.

MATT’S CORNER

Buy Low

SMU vs. Miami - The Mustangs get the Hurricanes after losing at Wake Forest last week. SMU is a double digit underdog, but I think they have the talent to keep this close. They have an awful secondary so that's a concern against Carson Beck.

MATT’S CORNER

Sell High

Wake Forest at Florida State - Wake has won three in a row, but their offense really isn't that spectacular. I know the Seminoles are on a long losing streak, but they are coming off a bye week and I think they use that time off to get refreshed and ready for the last portion of the season.
